July 18th, 2013 - If you were in attendance last weekend you will agree, Boothill Speedway drivers put on one heck of a show for our fans.
The factory stock division was by far the best turn out so far with 49 drivers in attendance. We ran 6 heat races, 3 B mains and gave one lucky driver a chance to have the last starting spot. The Feature called 22 drivers going 20 laps with Bubba Jones from Provencal, La stealing the win over our points leader Derrick Daniel and coming in third, former ARCA driver, Billy Meazell.
The best show of the night was put on by the Limited Modified class with 22 drivers starting that feature as well. Talent is one thing these guys definitely have and proved it last Saturday with clean side by side racing. Local fan favorite Derick Grigsby brought home a third place win, sliding in second place was Josh Baucom a name which is becoming more familiar around our track and taking his first ever win at Boothill Speedway Brandon Ball from Farmersville, La, who says "Was a tough one with some tough competition but held on long enough for the W! Maybe we have this car figured out an headed in the rite direction!"
ProMods ran a good clean show from start to finish with Doug Vick, Jr making it two in a row here at the speedway. Jeffrey Beshea joined in the up front battle to steal second over Jason Beasley who won back on June 22nd. Doug Vick Jr is still in the lead for the ProMod Summer Shootout Points Championship and has plans to keep it that way. This coming Saturday should be interesting to see if Vick can make it three in a row.
A field full of drivers racing side by side with several fights for position throughout the field was in the Modified division. The modified guys pulled on the track with 18 determined to win drivers. The ever capable "Win Again" Henigan came in third directly behind Casey Penn who was not willing to give up his spot and Jamie Burford who is very familiar with this track pulled in a win for two in row.
Most are familiar with the driver of the 1A Late Model from Diana, Texas, Boothill Speedway racing legend, Ronnie Adams, and fans were excited to see him add another win to his books at the speedway. Following him across the line was Tanner Kellick and Chris Huckabay. Both Adams and Huckabay are in the points chase for the championship with Jody Prince being a runner up. The local late model division is shared between the Comp Cam series and the SUPR series which puts our local drivers racing all across a few states chasing down the money. Boothill Speedway now has a reduced entry fee for our late model drivers with a modified purse.
And lets not forget the Beginners class which was recognized this past weekend on the front straight. Leading the pack into the green flag was Alex Williams who ran a strong run and collected yet another win for this season. Following him and coming in second Dawson Huckabay and third Garrett Gibson. These guys and the one lady in the class have been working on car handling and throttle control and improving week by week. Be sure to come check them out and pick your favorite car to cheer for.

May 30th, 2013 - Tiffany Welch Takes Over Promotions at Boothill Speedway
Greenwood, Louisiana (May 30th, 2013) – Just a few days ago it appeared that Boothill Speedway racers and fans would once again have to see their home track fall into the realm of the defunct. However, racer and promoter, Tiffany Welch, announced on Thursday that she would be operating the track for the balance of the 2013 campaign effective with the June 8th program.
“I approached Mrs. Paine (track owner) and expressed my interest in trying to keep our home track open,” notes Welch. “I have been encouraged by many to pursue my dream of becoming the next promoter of Boothill Speedway. After many discussions, and much prayer I was approached with the opportunity to make this dream a reality by Mr. and Mrs. Stuckey who also wanted to make sure that our home track stayed open and the drivers, fans, and families still had the opportunity to enjoy the racing action at Boothill Speedway.”
The facility will host a grand reopening on Saturday, June 8th with a program that will include Super Late Models, Open Wheel Modifieds, Limited Modifieds, Factory Stocks, and Beginners. More dates are being added to the schedule daily and can be viewed at www.BoothillSpeedway.org .
Slabs which have been paid in full will be honored, and any driver registration, which has been paid in full, will be honored. Any unregistered driver must pay a $25 registration fee to race next event. In addition any sponsors that have paid for the season will be honored, and new sponsors are being accepted and welcomed.
Fan of the week, Mother’s Day passes, and tickets won from radio event will be honored on the June 8th program. Tickets from Walnut Hill School will be honored on June 22nd only.
“I am honored to have the support of the Paine family as well as the Stuckey’s and many others who have assisted in pushing me to reach my goals. The position of the track owners will remain the same as it has over the many years with them providing their guidance and blessing over the new promoter. The Stuckey’s have decided to keep their current position as patrons as well, and would like to not be involved with any decisions or day to day activities surrounding the track. My position however has grown from office tasks and minor promoting to the business decisions will now be placed in my hands and the success of the track being my checkered flag. The green flag drops now!”
